UK visa consultants guide you through every stage of a UK visa application — from eligibility checks to document submission and interview preparation. At BrainEdge, our UK visa agents handle UK study, work, tourist and family visas end to end. Whether you are searching for a visa consultant for UK study or a trusted UK immigration agency route, our team gives you a clear plan built on current UKVI rules. As UK visa consultants in India, we work with applicants nationwide.
Before you apply, it helps to know which route fits your goal. The UK runs a Points-Based System through UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI), and each visa has its own purpose, cost and evidence. Here is how the main routes compare so you can self-select in seconds.
Visa Type
Purpose & Key Requirement

Tourist / Visitor

The Student Route is where most of our applicants start. As experienced UK student visa consultants, we take you from your university offer through to a decision — CAS, funds, English and the credibility interview all handled in one plan.
The Student Route lets you study full time in the UK once you hold an offer from a licensed Student Sponsor. It replaced the old Tier 4 visa and covers your course plus a short pre- and post-study buffer. Looking for the right course and city first? Our study-in-UK guide: universities & costs covers destinations and tuition, while this page owns the visa process itself.
A CAS is an electronic reference your university issues once you accept an unconditional offer and meet their conditions. It confirms your course, fees and sponsor licence number, and you cannot submit a Student visa application without it. We review your CAS before you apply so small errors don't trigger a refusal.
Four things decide a Student visa: a valid CAS, enough money held correctly, an accepted English test, and a convincing genuine-student profile. Each has a rule that catches applicants out — here is what to prepare.
Your offer must come from an institution on the UKVI register of licensed Student Sponsors. We confirm your provider's status and that your CAS matches your qualifications before submission.
You must show tuition plus living costs (maintenance funds), held in an acceptable account for a continuous period — the well-known 28-day rule. We check the amount and holding window against your exact course and location.
Most students prove English with an approved Secure English Language Test — IELTS (UKVI), PTE or TOEFL. Need to prepare? See our IELTS for UKVI coaching.
UKVI may ask short questions about your course choice, finances and post-study plans to confirm you are a genuine student. We run mock interviews so your answers are consistent with your application.
The Graduate Route is the reason many students choose the UK — it lets you stay and work after you finish, with no sponsor required. The permission lasts 2 years for Bachelor's and Master's graduates and 3 years for PhD holders. It is granted once and cannot be extended. Unlike the Skilled Worker visa, the Graduate Route needs no job offer or sponsor — giving you time to find a sponsoring employer and switch into the Skilled Worker route from inside the UK.

Book a Free AssessmentOur UK work visa consultants guide sponsored professionals through the Skilled Worker route without the guesswork. The Skilled Worker visa lets you work in the UK for an employer who holds a valid sponsor licence, in an eligible occupation at or above the required skill and salary level.
You must score 70 points under the Points-Based System: a genuine job offer, the right skill level, English at B1, and a salary that meets the threshold.
Requirement
Points
Sponsored job offer from a licensed employer
20
Skilled job at RQF 3 or above
20
Salary meeting the minimum threshold (£41,700 from July 2025)
20
English language at CEFR B1
10
Your sponsor issues a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) confirming the role and salary. No CoS means no Skilled Worker application. The general salary threshold is £41,700 (from 22 July 2025) or the going rate for the occupation — whichever is higher. Skilled Workers can typically apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain after around five years — read the full UK ILR guide.
Our UK tourist visa consultants help you present a clean, credible Standard Visitor application. Searching for in-person help nearby? See our UK tourist visa consultants in Patiala.
Apply for a Standard Visitor visa if you are travelling for tourism, to see family, for business meetings or for private medical treatment, for stays usually up to six months. The visitor route turns on three things: enough money for the trip, a credible reason to return home, and — unlike work and study routes — no Immigration Health Surcharge.
Show funds proportionate to your plans — commonly around £1,500–£2,000 for a two-week trip, plus evidence of who pays for what.
A record of compliant travel to the UK, US or Schengen area reassures caseworkers you will return on time.
State a clear, single purpose and back it with an itinerary, invitation or appointment letter as relevant.
Indian applicants often bring family, so it pays to understand how dependant applications work before you apply. A dependant is normally your spouse or partner and your children under 18. Each must meet the relationship and evidence rules for the main applicant's route.
Yes, spouse and children can accompany, but not automatically — every dependant files their own application, with their own funds and their own IHS payment. There is no single family form; you submit a linked application per person.
Dependant IHS follows the main route: £776 per year for student dependants and £1,035 per year for worker dependants. Student applicants must show extra maintenance for each dependant. Joining a British citizen or settled person follows different family rules; for in-person support our Patiala team can help.
High-value, low-volume routes for exceptional applicants. We scope these individually and point you to a detailed guide.
Here is exactly what happens once you decide to apply, laid out as a clean sequence so you always know the next move.
We start with a free consultation to confirm the right route, spot risks early and map your timeline.
We build your document set against a route-specific checklist — financial proof, TB test certificate, English test and supporting letters.
We complete the UKVI online form, pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) where it applies (£1,035/yr adult, £776/yr student), and book your biometrics appointment at VFS Global.
At your appointment, you give fingerprints and a photo and submit any original documents required.
Once approved, you receive an eVisa — the digital status that now replaces the physical Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). Standard priority upgrades: £500 for Priority (5 working days) and £1,000 for Super Priority (next working day).
This is where the numbers live. Prepare these correctly and you remove the most common cause of refusal. Core documents include a valid passport, your CAS or CoS (as applicable), financial evidence, English test results, a TB test certificate and any sponsorship or relationship proof.
Your maintenance funds must sit in an acceptable account for 28 consecutive days, and the closing balance must be dated within 31 days of your application.
Nearly every route needs proof of English. A Secure English Language Test (SELT) is an approved, UKVI-recognised test taken at an approved centre.
Two questions decide most applications — how long and how much. The government fee depends on the visa type and length; check the current figure on GOV.UK before you apply.
A standard visitor decision usually takes around 15 working days. Study and work timelines vary.
The Priority service targets a decision within 5 working days.
Super Priority targets a next-working-day decision.
The IHS is £1,035 per year for adults and £776 per year for students, dependants and under-18s. You pay the IHS for the full length of your visa, in advance, as part of the online application.
The biggest worry applicants bring us is "what if I'm refused?" Understanding why visas fail is the best way to avoid it. Most refusals trace to a handful of causes: insufficient or badly-evidenced funds, breaking the 28-day rule, a weak credibility interview, or a missing or mismatched CAS or CoS.
If your application is refused because of a caseworker error, an Administrative Review asks UKVI to reconsider the decision within set time limits. It is not a fresh application — it challenges how the existing evidence was assessed. We reduce risk before you submit: a full profile check, line-by-line document vetting and interview prep. Book a free profile check and we'll flag any weak points first.

The #1 concern for Indian applicants is falling victim to fraudulent agents. Here is how to spot a genuine UK visa consultant:
Genuine Consultant
Red Flag
✅ Registered with a government body (Punjab/State licence)
❌ No visible registration or licence
✅ ICEF-certified or professional accreditation
❌ No accreditation or vague claims
✅ Transparent fee structure
❌ Vague pricing, "package" offers with hidden costs
✅ Never claims to guarantee approval
❌ Claims "100% visa success" or "visa guarantee"
BrainEdge meets every genuine consultant criterion. Never pay upfront fees without verifying credentials. Always check Google reviews and government registration. BrainEdge provides a free consultation so you can assess our team before committing.

Do I need a UK visa consultant?
You can apply alone, but a consultant reduces the risk of costly errors on funds, documents and interviews — the areas that cause most refusals. It's optional, but for high-stakes or complex profiles it's usually worth it.
How much do UK visa consultants charge?
Fees vary by visa type and scope of service. Reputable consultants quote transparently in writing before you commit — ask for the scope and the fee up front, as BrainEdge always provides.
What is the 28-day rule for UK visa?
Your maintenance funds must be held in an acceptable account for 28 consecutive days, and the closing balance must be dated within 31 days of applying.
How much bank balance is required for a UK visa?
Students show living costs of £1,529 per month (London) or £1,171 per month (outside London) for up to nine months, plus tuition. Visitors typically show £1,500–£2,000 for a two-week trip.
How long does UK visa processing take?
A standard visitor decision is usually around 15 working days. Priority (£500) targets 5 working days and Super Priority (£1,000) targets the next working day.
Can I get a UK visa without IELTS?
Sometimes — you may qualify through PTE or TOEFL, an exemption for majority English-speaking nationals, or a degree taught in English. Otherwise an approved SELT is required.
Can I get a UK Skilled Worker Visa without a job offer?
No. You first need a job offer from a licensed sponsor and a Certificate of Sponsorship — see the Skilled Worker section.
Can my spouse or family accompany me?
Yes, but each dependant applies separately with their own funds and IHS — it is not automatic.
What happens if my visa is refused?
Depending on the reason, you may request an Administrative Review or reapply after fixing the issue. We help you diagnose the cause and choose the right path.
What is an eVisa (replacing the BRP)?
An eVisa is your digital immigration status, which now replaces the physical Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). You view and share it through your UKVI online account.
How do I avoid UK visa scams?
Work only with consultants who show verifiable credentials, put fees in writing and never guarantee a visa — see how to identify a genuine consultant.
How do I choose a genuine UK visa consultant?
Look for ICEF certification, a Government of Punjab licence, named university partnerships, verifiable Google reviews, transparent written fees and a real office. BrainEdge meets all these criteria — see our credentials here.
